Phobias and Fears

Phobias are strong, irrational fears of something that possesses little or no danger. They cause us to avoid certain objects, animals, situations or activities. We all have some fears but fear becomes a phobia when it is unrealistic and interferes with your everyday life.

Phobias are a form of anxiety disorder in which your anxiety gets attached to a specific object or situation. These include:-

  • animal phobias such as fear of spiders or insects,

  • the natural environment such as water, heights or darkness,

  • Fear of medical issues, hospitals, injections,

  •  Fear of specific situations such as flying, driving, 

  • Social phobia and agoraphobia,

  •  Others such as loud noises or drowning. or even food phobias.
